PGPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a man in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month in Fort Washington. The suspect is 41-year-old Jonathan Tyrone Howard of Fort Washington. He is charged with the murder of 37-year-old Craig Demarco Jackson of Temple Hills.

On December 19, 2025, at approximately 12:15 am, officers responded to a shooting in the 6700 block of Botetourt Drive. Officers located Jackson outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He died a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect shot the victim during an argument. Jackson and Howard were known to each other.

Howard is charged with first- and second-degree murder and additional charges. He is currently in custody at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
