PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Clinton

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving an electric scooter. The deceased rider is 43-year-old Scott Tippett of Clinton.

On June 15, 2026, at approximately 10:25 pm, officers responded to the 8100 block of Old Branch Avenue for the report of a collision between a car and the electric scooter. Tippett died of his injuries on the scene. The involved driver suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation revealed both Tippett and the driver were traveling in the same direction on Old Branch Avenue. For reasons now under investigation, the driver struck the electric scooter near the intersection of Manor Road.
