The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday evening in Adelphi. The victim is 31-year-old Jose Sermeno Gomez of Bryantown.
On September 15, 2026, at approximately 10:45 pm, officers responded to the 9300 block of 19th Avenue for a shooting. Officers located Sermeno Gomez outside, suffering from gunshot wound(s). He was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.
Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.
