PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Fort Washington

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Fort Washington.  The victim is identified as 32-year-old Michael Marquis of the 5500 block of Trout Run Road in Clinton.

On April 6, 2014, at about 10:15 pm, patrol officers were called to the 8400 block of Indian Head Highway for a crash involving a car and a motorcycle.  Marquis was the driver of the motorcycle and was pronounced dead on scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests the driver of a Hyundai attempted to turn onto southbound Indian Head Highway from a parking lot.  Marquis, who was traveling northbound on Indian Head Highway, struck the Hyundai as it was crossing the northbound lanes.  Preliminarily, it appears the driver of the Hyundai failed to yield the right of way to Marquis.

Two passengers in the Hyundai were transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The driver and another passenger were not injured.

Anyone with information on this collision is asked to call the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at (301) 306-5640.
