PGPD’s Community Services Division Partners with One Warm Coat and Homeless Outreach, Inc. to Distribute Coats to the Community

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Community Services Division, in partnership with One Warm Coat and Homeless Outreach, Inc., will distribute more than 150 coats to community members in need this weekend at the National Church of God in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

One Warm Coat is a national non-profit organization that supports and encourages coat drives. It helps both individuals and groups collect coats and deliver them to local agencies that then distribute the coats, free of charge, to those in need. Since its inception in 1992, One Warm Coat has helped to collect and distribute more than one million coats.

The partnership between the Police Department and One Warm Coat was established this year by Corporal Jessica Mercer of the Community Services Division. Through Corporal Mercer’s efforts, over 600 coats have been collected for distribution to community members in need this season.
