The Prince George's County Police Department's Special Enforcement Division announced today that organized theft ring suspect Donnell Angelo Norman turned himself in to the Prince George's County Police Department this morning. Norman has been remanded to the Department of Corrections.
The Prince George's County Police Department has obtained a warrant for 32-year-old Donnell Angelo Norman of the unit block of Keepsake Place, Waldorf, Maryland for his involvement in an organized theft ring in which thousands of dollars worth of clothing, jewelry and assorted merchandise were recovered.
On June 18, 2012, a loss prevention officer at the Nordstrom warehouse, located in the 800 block of Commerce Place in Bowie, observed Norman opening boxes and concealing assorted merchandise. He then left the warehouse and placed the merchandise in his vehicle. Norman then returned back to the warehouse and continued working.
Sgt. Aubrey Thompson of the Special Enforcement Division said Norman “would sell it (the merchandise) from his house like it was a Nordstrom Counter.”
On June 19, Norman was arrested for stolen merchandise recovered on his person. While Norman was incarcerated, investigators obtained a court-ordered search warrant on his vehicle, cell phone and his home. Prior to completing the search warrant, Norman was released on his own personal recognizance. The Special Enforcement Division was able to recover approximately $2,000 of stolen merchandise from Norman’s vehicle and $38,000 in assorted jewelry and clothing from his residence.
The investigation is ongoing.
