PGPD Charges Suspect in 2008 Murder in Fort Washington

Maurice Braswell

The Prince George’s County Police Department charged a man for the 2008 murder of 21-year-old Phillip Michael Harley of Fort Washington.  The suspect is identified as 25-year-old Maurice Braswell of the 3900 block of 26th Avenue in Temple Hills.

On June 13, 2008 at approximately 10:50 pm, patrol officers were called to a home in the 6300 block of Arwen Court in Fort Washington for a shooting.  Upon arrival, patrol officers found Harley suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  He died of his injuries at a hospital.

Harley and Braswell were both attending a party at the home on Arwen Court.  The investigation suggests the shooting stemmed from an earlier dispute between the two men.

The Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office arrested Braswell on July 3, 2013.  He’s currently in custody of the Prince George’s County Police Department.  He’s charged with first degree murder, second degree murder and related charges.
