PGPD Makes Quick Arrests in Gang-Related Murder in Clinton

The Prince George’s County Police Department has arrested three teenagers in connection with yesterday’s murder in Clinton. The victim is 17-year-old Israel Salvador Alas of Evelyn Lane in Clinton. Alas was a student at Crossland High School. The three suspects are 15-year-old Blas Rosales-Cordona of the 5600 block of Camp Springs Avenue in Temple Hills, 16-year-old Marco Matute of the 5500 block of Janice Lane in Temple Hills and 16-year-old Ever Lopez of the 4500 block of Dallas Place in Temple Hills. All three suspects are being charged as adults.

On December 3, 2014, at about 1:00 pm, patrol officers with the Maryland-National Capital Park Police and Prince George’s County Police Department were called to a park in the 8300 block of Woodyard Road for the report of an injured man. When they arrived, they found Alas suffering trauma to his upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspects stabbed the victim believing he was involved in a rival gang. There is no evidence linking the victim to a gang. The suspects are each charged with first degree murder.
