The Collision
Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in
Hyattsville. The victim is 55-year-old Daniel Jerome Crum of Somerset Road in
Riverdale. The crash occurred in May. Crum recently died of his injuries.
On May 15, 2016, at
about 4:00 pm, patrol officers were called to Rhode Island Avenue at Charles
Armentrout Way for a crash involving a car and a motorcycle.
The preliminary
investigation reveals Crum, who was on a motorcycle, was heading northbound on
Rhode Island Avenue approaching the intersection of Charles Armentrout Way,
when he was struck by a car. Preliminarily, it appears the car’s driver failed
to yield the right of way and turned into Crum’s path. Crum suffered critical
injuries. He died on June 12th.. The driver of the car was not hurt.
