A
suspended Prince George’s County Police Officer was indicted by a grand jury
today.
Corporal
Levi Vaughn faces charges of second degree assault and misconduct in office.
The allegation involves conduct which occurred while the officer was on duty on
July 15, 2016. His police powers were suspended in November.
The
Internal Affairs Division launched an investigation after learning of the incident which involved striking a suspect who
was in custody. The Prince George’s County Police Department brought this case
to the State’s Attorney’s Office for consideration of criminal charges
following the internal investigation.
Vaughn
joined the department in 2007. He was assigned to the Bureau of Patrol.
