Detectives Release Images of Items Stolen from Homicide Victim & Shoes Worn by Suspect




Homicide Unit detectives are asking for the community’s assistance as they continue to actively investigate the recent fatal shooting of a teen in Bladensburg. The victim is 17-year-old Bryan Alvarado-Esquivel of Georgia Avenue in Northwest Washington. He was shot and killed on June 18th. The suspect stole several of Bryan’s personal items following the shooting – including the above pictured Gucci belt and watch. A necklace was also taken.

This fatal shooting occurred on June 18th at approximately 1:55 pm. Maryland-National Capital Park Police as well as PGPD officers responded to a park in the 5300 block of Varnum Street for the report of a shooting. The victim was discovered outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 




The suspect was seen running from the area wearing this type of distinctive blue tennis shoes. He was also wearing light blue jeans and a black tank top. The suspect is described as an African American male, approximately 20 years old, about 5’2” with shoulder-length dreadlocks or braids.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
