Detectives Charge Suspect in Fort Washington Homicide

Homicide Unit detectives charged a suspect in connection with a homicide in Fort Washington on Wednesday. The suspect is 30-year-old Lindsey Jeffries of the 7800 block of Lewis Chapel Circle in Lorton, Virginia. The victim is 57-year-old Jeffrey Hunter of Friar Road in Fort Washington.

On October 31, 2018, at about 8:10 pm, patrol officers were called to a home in the 9100 block of Friar Road for the report of a shooting. When they arrived on scene, officers found Hunter inside of the home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and the victim, who were known to each other, were involved in a confrontation during which the suspect shot the victim. Jeffries is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
