PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday morning in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. The deceased driver is 52-year-old Boyce Abney of Washington, DC. 

On March 23, 2022, at approximately 9:20 am, officers responded to the 6600 block of Sisalbed Drive for a single-vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed Abney was driving southbound on Quarry Avenue approaching the intersection of Sisalbed Drive, when for reasons that are under investigation, he lost control of his car, left the roadway, and struck a tree. Abney was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. There were no other occupants in the car.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque

La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque vehicular que se registró el miércoles en la mañana en un sector no-incorporado de Capitol Heights. El fenecido conductor fue identificado como Boyce Abney, de 52 años y vecino de Washington DC.

El 23 de marzo de 2022, a eso de las 9:20 am, oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 6600 de Sisalbed Drive para atender un choque individual sencillo. La investigación preliminar reveló que Abney conducía en dirección sur sobre Quarry Avenue, acercándose a la intersección de Sisalbed Drive, cuando, por razones que se están investigando, este perdió el control de su auto, salió de la carretera e impactó un árbol.
