Three Additional Suspects in Custody for Murder of DuVal High School Student

Ramon Richardson

Cameron Anderson

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has identified and charged three more suspects in connection with the murder of a DuVal High School student in Lanham last September. The suspects are 18-year-old Ramon Richardson of Lanham, 18-year-old Cameron Anderson of Landover and a 17-year-old male from Lanham who is charged as an adult. They are each charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Jayda Medrano-Moore of Greenbelt. These arrests bring the total in custody for Jayda’s murder to four.

On September 11, 2023, at approximately 3:45 pm, officers responded to calls for a shooting in the 9800 block of Palamar Drive. The victim was located outside suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was walking on Palamar Drive after leaving school when a fight ensued between two groups who were involved in an on-going dispute. During the fight, a suspect produced a gun. Detectives believe the victim attempted to intervene when she was shot.

Through various investigative techniques, Homicide Unit detectives identified the three additional suspects who were taken into custody this morning. Richardson and Anderson are charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. The juvenile suspect is charged with first degree murder. In the days following the murder in September, the PGPD announced the arrest of a 17-year-old male in connection with the fatal shooting.
