Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday evening in Oxon Hill. The victim is 19-year-old Tyrone Avent of Oxon Hill. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On April 11, 2024, at approximately 5:30 pm, officers responded to the area of Neptune Avenue and Audrey Lane for the report of a shooting. Officers located Avent outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).
