PGPD Arrests Suspect in Temple Hills Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged a suspect in connection with a recent fatal shooting in Temple Hills. The suspect is 33-year-old Polo Shaw of Upper Marlboro. He’s charged with murdering 39-year-old Darian Ragland of Brandywine.

On April 10, 2026, at approximately 4:35 pm, officers responded to the 4700 block of Branch Avenue where they located the victim inside of his car suffering from a gunshot wound(s). He died at the scene.

 

Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified Shaw as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. With the assistance of the Emergency Services Team, he was taken into custody. The preliminary investigation revealed Shaw shot Ragland during a road rage incident. The suspect and victim were not known to each other.

 

Shaw is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
