Police Make Arrest in Woodlawn Boulevard Murder

           The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit arrested 21-year-old Marcus Devon Reid in connection with the murder of Ishmael Boakye in Upper Marlboro.

            Homicide detectives developed Reid, of the 10000 block of Pookey Way in Upper Marlboro, as a suspect during the course of their investigation.  He was arrested today and charged with first degree murder. Reid was remanded to the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.

             On August 7th, at approximately 12:07 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 10900 block of Woodlawn Boulevard for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Boakye, of the 6800 block of Riverdale Road in Riverdale, lying on the ground fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

            The investigation revealed that Reid and Boakye were known acquaintances and that Boakye was shot during an altercation with Reid.
