PGPD Investigates Murder in District Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a murder in District Heights.  The victim is identified as 23 year-old Antonio Delonte Ross of the 1600 block of Tulip Avenue in District Heights.

On January 18, 2013, at 9:20 pm, police officers responded to the 1600 block of Tulip Avenue for a shooting. Upon arrival, police officers found Ross suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Detectives believe the suspect(s) fled the scene in a silver Chrysler 300, which has since been recovered in Washington DC. The car had been set on fire. Detectives do not believe this was a random crime and preliminarily believe the victim was targeted. Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.

We dont understand why this happened but we will be here with your mom, grandma, Jasmine and Maliyah . Shawn prayed with and for you as you left us so I know God has you in His care. What man ment for bad God will show some good. Praying for the violence to stop and the crminals be bought to justice.
