Detectives with our Homicide Unit are conducting
an investigation into the fatal shooting of a man in Oxon Hill. He is
26-year-old Shahim Body of the 6400 block Livingston Road in Oxon Hill. A
reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest
and indictment in this case.
On June 6th, at about 8:40 pm, patrol officers responded to the 5200 block of Leverett Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died several hours later.
Detectives are working to identify a
suspect(s) and motive in this case.
