POLICE SEEKING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FROM COMMUNITY IN 4TH DEGREE SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION IN COLLEGE PARK

The Prince George’s County Police Department is notifying residents in College Park of an evolving investigation stemming from a reported 4th degree sexual assault over the weekend.

On September 16th, at about 3:30 am, a suspect entered an apartment through an unlocked window in the 4500 block of Guilford Road. Once inside, the man inappropriately touched the woman. The woman screamed prompting the suspect to flee the apartment.

Prince George’s County Police detectives are now looking at two additional reports in the same area over the last month as a result of the ongoing investigation into this incident. At this point, it’s unclear whether the same suspect is linked to these incidents. Detectives are working to develop suspect(s) information. None of the cases occurred at the same address:

September 16th – while investigating the above case, detectives spoke to a woman who says a man opened an unlocked window and peered inside of her apartment in the 4500 block of Guilford Road. She screamed and he fled. This occurred shortly after 1:00 am. The incident wasn’t initially reported to police.

September 9th – a man entered an apartment through an unlocked door around 1:00 am in the 4500 block of Guilford Road. A female resident saw a suspect standing in the doorway and screamed prompting him to flee.

We are increasing our patrols in the area and, as always, we remind all residents to keep your doors and windows locked.

The Prince George’s County Police Department would like to speak with anyone who may have additional information pertaining to this investigation.
