Homicide
Unit detectives today released surveillance video of a man they’d like to talk
to in connection with a recent homicide.
On May
9, 2018, at approximately 6:10 pm, patrol officers responded to Annapolis Road
at the Baltimore-Washington Parkway for the report of a shooting. Officers
found the victim, 29-year-old James Edwards of New Carrollton, in the roadway
suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
On the
video, the person of interest is seen walking into a convenience store on South
Dakota Avenue in the District. This video was recorded approximately 15 minutes
after the fatal shooting.
A
reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest
and indictment in this case. Preliminarily,
detectives do not believe this was a random act.
