PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Langley Park


The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Langley Park early Saturday morning. Investigators are working to identify the victim and make notification to his family.

On August 25th, at about 12:00 am, patrol officers were called to the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Lebanon Street for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation reveals a Toyota was traveling northbound on New Hampshire Avenue approaching the green traffic light at Lebanon Street when it struck the male pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he later died. The driver of the Toyota remained on scene. The driver was not injured. Investigators are working to determine if the victim was in the crosswalk at the time of the collision.
