PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Chillum


 The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a collision in Chillum that took place on October 20th. A passenger in the involved vehicle died of his injuries on October 29th. He is 93-year-old Aurelio Bello of Eastern Avenue in Washington, D.C.  

On October 20th, at approximately 8:00 pm, patrol officers were called to Chillum Road near 8th Avenue for a collision.

The preliminary investigation reveals the driver was driving a SUV westbound on Chillum Road. For reasons that remain under investigation, the driver struck the rear of a parked and unoccupied SUV. The driver, Bello and a second passenger suffered what preliminarily had appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
