PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Beltsville

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Beltsville. The collision took place on June 1, 2019. The victim died on June 3rd. The victim is 57-year-old Lisa Layton of Evans Trail in Beltsville.
 
On June 1st, at approximately 9:05 pm, patrol officers were called to the 3600 block of Powder Mill Road for a collision involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian, Layton, was rushed to a hospital for critical injuries. The involved driver was not hurt.
 
The preliminary investigation reveals the pedestrian was in the roadway, possibly crossing the street, when she was struck by a car heading northbound. The victim was not in a crosswalk at the time. The driver remained on the scene following the collision.
