Police Seek Information in Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision in Suitland

PGPD releases surveillance photos of the vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and- run Saturday night in Suitland.  


The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision in Suitland.

On September 29th, around 8:30 p.m., police officers responded to the intersection of Silver Hill Road at Suitland Road for a call of a person lying in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers found Michael Eugene White, 55, suffering from trauma consistent with a vehicle collision. White was pronounced dead on scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed White, of no fixed address, was walking along the northbound shoulder of Silver Hill Road when at some point he entered the roadway in front of the striking vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene without stopping and rendering assistance. It was last seen heading northbound on Silver Hill Road. The vehicle is described as a white Chevrolet Impala that may have front-end damage. Investigators are seeking information about the car or would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed or been in the area at the time of the collision.
