PGPD Arrests Teacher Suspected of Sexually Assaulting Student

Garnold Maurice King

The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested an Upper Marlboro man in connection with the repeated sexual assault of a then 13 year-old girl in Fort Washington.  The suspect is identified as 48 year-old Garnold Maurice King of the 9600 block of Reiker Drive.

King was a social studies teacher at Isaac Gourdine Middle School in Fort Washington. The victim was one of his students.  The then 13 year-old alleges that between September 2011 and June 2012, King sexually assaulted her, both on and off school grounds.  The victim told her mother, who then contacted police.

Police officers arrested King on December 6, 2012.  He faces charges of second, third, and fourth degree sex offense, second degree assault and two counts of sex abuse of a minor. King has since been released on a $125,000 bond.

I honestly DO NOT believe this. I had Mr.King in the year of 2007-2008 and Mr.King was the best teacher I have ever had and many peers also agree. We are all in shock and believe the girl is not being truthful.

Mr. King was my elementary school teacher.. This doesn't sound like something he would do... He's been teaching for years, and has never been accused of such accusations... There's always two sides to every story.. The girl could be lying... Some kids tell stories when they don't get there way, or get a grade they don't like, or even feel favoritism to other students around them... Only GOD, Mr. King, and the girl knows the truth...
