The Prince George's County Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal car crash in Riverdale. The victim is 25-year-old Jose Manuel Manrique of 64th Place in Riverdale.
On October 12, 2014, at about 3:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 6900 block of Riverdale Road for the report of a crash involving a single car. When they arrived, they discovered the car had struck a utility pole. The driver, Manrique, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation suggests Manrique was heading westbound on Riverdale Road. For reasons which remain unclear, his car crossed over the eastbound lanes, left the roadway, and struck the pole.
