The Prince George's County Police
Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal
pedestrian hit-and-run in Landover. The victim is identified as 63-year-old Salvador
Sorto of Redfield Avenue in Landover.
On October 4, 2014, at about 8:50 pm,
patrol officers were called to the 6700 block of Annapolis Road for the report
of a collision involving a pedestrian. When they arrived, patrol officers found
a man suffering from critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation reveals Sorto
may have been laying in the roadway when he was struck. The striking car did
not stop. Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed
this collision or has any information on this case.
