The Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting early this
morning in Temple Hills. The victim is 30-year-old Hakim Akinbi of 23rd
Parkway in Temple Hills. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a
random crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information
leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
At about 1:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 4400 block of
23rd Parkway for a shooting. They found the victim outside suffering
from gunshot wounds. He died a short time later at a hospital.
Detectives are working to identify a motive and the suspect(s).
