The Homicide Unit is
investigating the death of a woman in Adelphi. The victim is 29-year-old Ashley
Solano of Metzerott Road in Hyattsville. Preliminarily, detectives do not
believe this was a random crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for
information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
At about 9:00 am on May
30th, patrol officers were called to the 7400 block of 18th Avenue to check on the welfare of
someone in the laundry room of an apartment building. They found the victim
suffering from trauma to her body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are working to
identify a motive and the suspect(s).
