PGPD Investigating Homicide in the City of Mount Rainier

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a homicide in the City of Mount Rainier. The victim is 20-year-old Hosheyah Smith of Glenn Dale.

On July 10, 2019, at approximately 6:05 pm, PGPD Detectives were called to respond to an area hospital for a walk-in shooting victim who they later identified as Smith. The subsequent investigation established Smith had been shot near the intersection of 37^th and Shepherd streets in Mount Rainier.

Smith was taken to the hospital where, despite all life saving efforts, he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are working to establish a motive in this case.
