PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in District Heights

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating fatal shooting in District Heights that occurred Sunday. The victim is 18-year-old Deniro Monts of District Heights. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On May 17th, at approximately 4:05 pm, officers responded to the 6800 block of Atwood Street for a reported shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim on a sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed three additional people were also shot. One of those victims was critically injured. The other two victims suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are working to identify suspect(s) and establish a motive in this case.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Tiroteo en District Heights

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios investigan un mortal tiroteo que tomó lugar el domingo en District Heights. La víctima fue identificada como Deniro Monts, de 18 años de edad y vecino de District Heights. Preliminarmente, los detectives entienden que no fue un crimen al azar.

El 17 de mayo, a eso de las 4:05 de la tarde, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 6800 de Atwood Street tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Al llegar a la escena, los oficiales hallaron a la víctima con múltiples heridas de bala en la acera. Poco después, a éste le declararon muerto en el hospital.

La investigación preliminar reveló que otras tres personas también fueron baleadas. Una de esas víctimas sostuvo heridas graves. Las otras dos víctimas sufrieron lo que parecían ser heridas menos severas.

Los detectives investigan para establecer motivo e identificar posible(s) sospechoso(s) en este caso.
