The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit arrested and charged a suspect for a murder in Capitol Heights in January. The suspect is 36-year-old Jason Fogle of the 2100 block of Brooks Drive in District Heights. He’s charged with the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Curtis Lee Edwards Jr. of Suitland. He’s also charged with the attempted murder of a second, surviving victim.
On January 16, 2021, at approximately 12:40 pm, patrol officers responded to the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike for a shooting. Officers located Edwards inside of a car suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second victim was also shot. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. The suspect was also shot during the incident. He has since been released from the hospital and is now in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
The preliminary investigation revealed Fogle and the victims were known to each other. The shooting stemmed from an argument. Fogle is charged with first and second degree murder, attempted first and second degree murder and additional charges.

Detectives Arrestan a Sospechoso en Caso de
Homicidio en Capitol Heights
La Unidad de Homicidios del Departamento de la Policía del Condado de Prince George’s arrestó y sometió cargos contra un sospechoso por un asesinato ocurrido en Capitol Heights durante el mes de enero. El sospechoso fue identificado como Jason Fogle, de 36 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 2100 de Brooks Drive en District Heights. A este le imputan haber matado a tiros a Curtis Lee Edwards Jr., de 28 años de edad y vecino de Suitland. También enfrenta cargos por tentativa de asesinato contra una segunda víctima quien sobrevivió.
El 16 de enero de 2021, a eso de las 12:40 pm, un grupo de oficiales de patrulla acudió a la cuadra 5200 de Marlboro Pike tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Los oficiales hallaron a Edwards dentro de un vehículo con múltiples heridas de bala. A este le declararon muerto en la escena. Una segunda víctima también recibió disparos. No obstante, sus heridas no resultaron graves. El sospechoso a su vez también fue baleado. Desde entonces, fue dado de alta del hospital y ahora se encuentra bajo la custodia del Departamento de Corrección.
La investigación preliminar reveló que Fogle y las víctimas se conocían entre sí. El tiroteo surgió de un argumento entre estos. Fogle enfrenta cargos por asesinato en primer y segundo grado, tentativa de asesinato en primer y segundo grado, entre otros.
