The suspect wanted for a fatal stabbing Wednesday evening in Oxon Hill is in custody. He is 38-year-old Anthony Joseph Key of Washington, DC. He’s charged with the murder of 44-year-old Corye Trapp of Oxon Hill.
On June 24, 2026, at approximately 6:35 pm, officers responded to the unit block of Audrey Lane for a stabbing. The victim was located outside of a business suffering from multiple stab wounds. He died a short time later at a hospital.
With the assistance of the PGPD’s Real Time Crime Center, responding patrol officers located Key in the 4900 block of Indian Head Highway. The suspect ran from officers but was quickly apprehended in the 4600 block of Livingston Road SE in Washington, DC. He remains in custody in Washington, DC, pending extradition to Prince George’s County. The PGPD appreciates the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Department.
The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect stabbed the victim during an argument. At this time, there is no indication they were known to each other prior to the stabbing. Key is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges.
