DNA Match Leads to Murder Arrest

Prince George’s County Police arrested a suspect in the 2005 murder of 49 year-old Reginald Taborn in Chillum. Taborn was found stabbed to death on May 17th, 2005, in his home in the 3300 block of Buchanan Street.

At the time, investigators collected several items found near the victim for DNA testing. Earlier this year, a routine search of the FBI Laboratory Federal Convicted Offender DNA Database produced a DNA match. On Tuesday, October 9th, 2012, police officers arrested 41 year-old Marcus Levi Brown of the 1200 block of 7th Street in Washington, DC. Taborn and Brown were acquaintances.

Brown is charged with second degree murder.
