Updated June 29, 2013: TODAY 3:00-4:00pm: One week after a sexual assault on a young child, detectives will return to the Marlton neighborhood in Upper Marlboro today to canvas for information. They will stop cars and pass out flyers at the intersection of Trumps Hill Road and Heathermore Boulevard. Updated June 28, 2013: Today 3:00-4:00 pm Detectives are returning to the area to canvas.  Officers will be stopping cars and passing out flyers with information about this sexual assault.   Anyone with information is asked to call CRIME SOLVERS at 1-866-411-TIPS.  A cash reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating the sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl in Upper Marlboro.  It occurred on June 22, 2013 at approximately 3:00 pm in the 8800 block of Heathermore Boulevard.  Detectives would like to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information on this case.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect approached the victim, sexually assaulted her behind a building and then ran away.

Detectives are actively canvassing the area and following up on leads in an effort to identify the suspect.  He is described as an older white male with a heavy build.  He is bald with a goatee-style gray beard.
