PGPD Sergeant and K9 Selected for Wall of Fame

The Prince George’s County Police Department is proud to announce that the Beltway Plaza Mall has selected Sergeant Robert Heverly and his late K9 partner, Andy, to be featured on its Wall of Fame.

The Beltway Plaza Mall is honoring the team for helping catch an armed carjacking suspect in 2002.  That arrest led to the closure of a homicide and an armed robbery.  The great arrest also earned them an American Red Cross “Real Hero – Medal of Courage.”  Sadly, Andy passed away last August.  The 14-year-old Belgian Malinois was a cherished partner and member of both the PGPD and Heverly family.

Members of the community are welcome to attend the ceremony.
