The Prince George’s County Police
Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a
fatal crash this morning in Forestville. The victim is 37-year-old Ghada
Seifel-Din Ahmed of Brown Wood Road in Upper Marlboro. Investigators are searching
for a trash truck that was involved in this crash.
On January 19, 2016, at about
7:15 am, patrol officers were called to Pennsylvania Avenue and Interstate 495
for a crash. When they arrived, the officers found Ahmed suffering from
critical injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation
reveals Ahmed had just exited southbound I-495 onto Pennsylvania Avenue. It
appears Ahmed’s pickup truck made contact with a trash truck on Pennsylvania
Avenue, causing her to lose control and strike a pole. Because of the size
difference in the vehicles, investigators now believe it’s possible the trash
truck’s driver may not have known the truck was involved in a collision. Anyone
who witnessed this fatal crash is asked to call investigators.
