Homicide Unit detectives are asking for the
community’s assistance in identifying the two suspects seen in this
surveillance video. They’re wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 34-year-old Jamal Barnes on Tuesday. In the video, the
two suspects are seen walking moments before the homicide. The video also shows
the suspects’ silver car.
On February 7th,
at about 12:00 pm, officers with the Seat Pleasant Police Department responded
to the 6400 block of Central Avenue for the report of a stabbing. When they
arrived, they discovered Barnes suffering from a stab wound to his upper body.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives are working to identify the motive
in this case. This evening, detectives with our Homicide Unit will canvass in
the area of the 6400 block of Central Avenue in Seat Pleasant. The canvass will
begin at 5:00 pm.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered
for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
