PGPD Searching for Driver Who Hit and Killed Pedestrian

UPDATE: We are looking for an early 2000's model Cadillac Deville with front end damage to the right side.  The car also has a damaged right headlight and hood.

UPDATE:  The pedestrian from the collision on Indian Head Highway has been identified as:  Nefertiti Kemoris HORTON / B/F/02-28-1978 / No fixed address.  The pedestrian was identified by her brother.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Accokeek. The striking driver did not remain on the scene. Investigators believe the vehicle may have front end damage. Anyone who witnessed the collision early this morning is urged to please call us. The victim’s name will be released later this evening.

On May 19th, around 12:45 am, patrol officers were called to Indian Head Highway near Farmington Road. Officers found the victim, Nefertiti Horton, an adult female, suffering from critical injuries. She was pronounced on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was struck while walking on the northbound side of Indian Head Highway. Investigators are working to determine whether she was on the shoulder or in the roadway when she was struck.
