PGPD Unity Tour Cycling Team's Emotional and Physical Journey Comes to an End

The 17 members of the Prince George's County Police Unity Tour Cycling team logged hundreds of miles through 4 states over 4 days.  The Unity Tour honors fallen law enforcement officers and raises money for their surviving families and proceeds for the National Law Enforcement Memorial.  Our team crossed the finish line at the Memorial in Washington DC Friday afternoon.

During the ride, our officers stopped in Wilmington, Delaware where they placed a wreath at the gravesite of fallen Prince George's County Police Detective Jacai Colson.  Colson was killed in the line of duty on March 13th, 2016.

When the team arrived in Prince George's County Friday morning, they put down their bikes for a ceremony honoring fallen Detective Colson outside of our District III station where Colson was killed.

Our team represents officers and detectives from across our department.  Among them was our department's first ever woman to participate, Corporal Quiana Keeve who is assigned to our training academy.

Also, completing the journey was a father and son duo.  Homicide Sergeant Ben Brown and his son Officer Jason Brown who works at our District IV station.

Our department congratulates the entire team on their months of training, their profound dedication, and their steadfast commitment to honoring Prince George's County Police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our community.
