PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Lewisdale

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Lewisdale. The victim is 20-year-old Wilber Vasquez-Gonzalez of Quinn Spring Court in Hyattsville. 

On June 9th, at approximately 2:45 pm, patrol officers were called to the 6900 block of Riggs Road for the report of a collision.

The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was a passenger in a SUV that was travelling southbound on Riggs Road. For reasons that remain under investigation, the SUV lost control and entered the northbound lanes of Riggs Road. The SUV struck a second SUV in the northbound lanes. Vasquez-Gonzalez was pronounced dead on the scene. The drivers of the two SUVs suffered what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the victim’s SUV also suffered what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.
