PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Lanham

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Lanham. The victim is 39-year-old Julie Risal of Pigeonwing Place in Columbia, Maryland. 

On June 8, 2018, at approximately 3:30 am, patrol officers responded to Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Forbes Boulevard for a collision involving a pedestrian and a car. When they arrived, the officers found Risal in the roadway. She was taken to the hospital where she died several hours later.

The investigation reveals the victim was struck while crossing Martin Luther King Jr. Highway. The driver remained on the scene. Preliminarily, investigators do not believe the victim was in a crosswalk.
