The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run that occurred in Camp Springs Tuesday evening. The deceased pedestrian is 64-year-old Alvin W. Freeland Jr. of Lothian, MD.
On May 11, 2021, at approximately 9:30 pm, officers responded to the 5700 block of Allentown Road for a pedestrian collision.
The preliminary investigation suggests Freeland, for reasons that are under investigation, may have been lying in the roadway when he was struck by a dark-colored sedan. The vehicle did not remain on the scene. Freeland was pronounced dead on the scene.

Bajo Investigación Mortal Choque-y-Fuga Peatonal
La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque-y-fuga peatonal que ocurrió en Camp Springs el martes en la tarde. El fenecido peatón fue identificado como Alvin W. Freeland Jr., de 64 años de edad y vecino del área de Lothan, MD.
El 11 de mayo de 2021, a eso de las 9:30 pm, un grupo oficiales acudió a la cuadra 5700 de Allentown Road para atender un choque peatonal.
La investigación preliminar sugiere que Freeland, por razones que permanecen bajo investigación, pudo haberse encontrado en la carretera cuando le impactó un vehículo sedan color oscuro. El vehículo no permaneció en la escena y Freeland le declararon muerto en la misma.
