Police Make Arrest in Murder on Gateway Boulevard

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested 38-year-old Felipe Gomez in connection with the murder of Maria Delmi Madrid-De Gomez in District Heights, Maryland.

  Homicide detectives identified Gomez, of the 6500 block of Gateway Boulevard in District Heights, as a suspect in this case.  He was taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police Department without incident earlier today.

On Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at approximately 12:19 a.m., District Heights police officers responded to the 6500 block of Gateway Boulevard for a report of a cutting. When patrol officers arrived, they discovered 37-year-old Maria Delmi Madrid-De Gomez, of the 6500 block of Gateway Boulevard, suffering from a stabbing. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The investigation is still ongoing.
