UPDATE: PGPD Investigates Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Collision in Chillum

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit (CARU) has identified the involved driver in the critical pedestrian hit-and-run collision in Chillum.
On Saturday, May 26, 2012, at approximately 11:15 p.m., an off-duty Prince George’s County police officer observed an adult male, in the roadway on Ager Road at East-West Highway. Prince George’s County Fire and EMS personnel transported the 49 year-old pedestrian to a local hospital where he is in critical condition. The striking vehicle did not stop at the scene.
At approximately 7:37 a.m., the involved driver returned to the scene and contacted the police. Charges against the driver are pending.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was traveling westbound on Ager Road approaching East-West Highway when he struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk or at an intersection at the time of the collision.
