Suitland Man Arrested after Search Warrant Yields Over 23 Pounds of Marijuana

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Special Enforcement Division and Special Operations Division made a substantial drug seizure Friday in Suitland, Maryland.

Friday morning, police conducted a search warrant at an apartment in the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive.  Police arrested one person and recovered more than twenty-three pounds of marijuana, more than $4,000 in cash and ammunition.

The suspect is identified as Leon Flythe, 28, of the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive. Flythe, a known gang member, was charged with felony possession with the intent to distribute large amounts of marijuana and other drug related charges.  He was remanded to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections where he is being held on a $60,000 bond.

The arrest and seizure come during Prince George’s County's Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative led by County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III.  Suitland is one of six neighborhoods targeted in the initiative.
