PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Oxon Hill

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Oxon Hill. The victim is identified as 42-year-old Phillip Walker of the 2300 block of Medinah Ridge Road in Accokeek.

On May 23, 2014, at about 7:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of northbound Indian Head Highway and Wilson Bridge Drive for a crash involving a SUV and a motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation suggests the driver of the SUV attempted to make a u-turn onto northbound Indian Head Highway from the southbound lane. Walker, who was traveling northbound on Indian Head Highway, struck the SUV. Preliminarily, it appears the driver of the SUV failed to yield the right of way to Walker.

The driver of the SUV was not injured. Walker died of his injuries at a hospital.
