Suspect in Domestic-Related Double Murder in Oxon Hill in Custody

Updated August 4, 2014: Thomas remains incarcerated in Virginia, awaiting extradition.  He has admitted involvement in both murders. The victims are 83-year-old Eunice Brooks and 54-year-old Janice Marshall-Thomas. The victims are mother and daughter. All three lived at the home in the 5500 block of Chloe Drive in Oxon Hill. The suspect was married to Marshall-Thomas.

The suspect in today's domestic-related double murder in Oxon Hill is now in custody. The suspect is 54-year-old Malcolm Paul Thomas of the 5500 block of Chloe Drive in Oxon Hill. He was arrested late this evening in Wakefield, Virginia, by the Sussex County Sheriff's Office.


On August 2, 2014, at about 7:50 am, patrol officers were called to the 5500 block of Chloe Drive for a welfare check. When they arrived, they found two women inside a home suffering from trauma to the body. They were both pronounced dead on the scene. Detectives are awaiting notification from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner before identifying the two victims. 

Detectives quickly developed Thomas as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. He is charged with two counts of first degree murder. He is currently in custody in Wakefield, Virginia, awaiting extradition back to Prince George's County. The investigation is ongoing.
