PGPD Investigates Homicide in Landover

Updated November 2, 2014: The victim is identified as 40-year-old John Savalas Brown, of Longfellow Street in Northwest Washington.  Detectives are continuing to work to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.  A cash reward of up to $25,000 is available for information which leads to an arrest.  Please call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.


The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in Landover.

On November 2, 2014, at about 1:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 1600 block of Brightseat Road for a shooting. When they arrived they found a man outside an apartment, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.
